C21 Westminster Sightseeing Tour - 8.70 km

INTRODUCTION

This collection of three routes takes you around the main central Westminster sightseeing areas by the river and Whitehall.

The L1 Charing Cross to the Houses of Parliament route covers sights around Trafalgar Square, Admiralty Arch, The Mall, Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall, St James’s Park, Westminster Abbey, and the Houses of Parliament.

The L3 Around the Houses of Parliament route takes you along the side of the Houses of Parliament, into Victoria Tower Gardens, and then over Lambeth Bridge to Lambeth Palace. It then goes along the Albert Embankment and Westminster Bridge before finishing at Westminster Station by Parliament Square.

 The L2 London Eye and South Bank visual riverside route takes you along London’s famous river Thames between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, crossing the Golden Jubilee Bridge. It passes Victoria Embankment and Gardens, The Royal Festival Hall, the National Gallery, Somerset House, Cleopatra’s Needle, the London Eye and County Hall.

WHAT THE ROUTE LOOKS LIKE AT SPEED (8.7 KM IN 3 MINUTES)



BEST TIME

Morning—The first and third sections will be fairly busy. The best time to do this route is on weekends in the early morning when it is quiet and free from crowds and heavy traffic.

Day - Most of this route will be busy during the day.

Evenings - Quieter in the evening except for the final section.


To get to know the area, it's recommended that you repeat the route several times to familiarize yourself with the places along the way and start building your unique relationships with this area of London.
